Elton John To Get His Own Ben & Jerry's Flavor
Elton John has performed in 49 states in the U.S. He's sung for his supper in every state but Vermont, the home of Ben & Jerry's ice cream.
So, to honor Sir Elton, and his decision to perform in the "Freedom and Unity" state (yes, that's their motto), Ben & Jerry's have created an ice cream flavor based off one of his greatest classics:
The limited-batch ice cream, made from 'an outrageous symphony of decadent chocolate ice cream, peanut butter cookie dough, butter brickle and white chocolate chunks,' is a take-off on his 1970s album and song 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.' It will be available from July 18 to July 25 in the company's Vermont scoop shops, with proceeds going to the Elton John AIDS Foundation, officials said Tuesday.
Ben & Jerry's has created rock 'n' roll-themed products before, honoring Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia ("Cherry Garcia") and Vermont-bred jam rockers Phish ("PhishFood").
Sir Elton apparently gave his approval, but hasn't tasted the creamy treat.

I live in Burlington, Vermont, I tried this new flavor today. It is truly delicious! The "butter brickle" is realy buttery and crunchy, the peanut butter cookie dough is not overwhelming. I hope this flavor is permanently incorporated into B&J's options, just like Cherry Garcia and Phish Food.
