"The 6 Pack" From Burger King

115_2I'm not sure what to think about this.

Burger King has announced the introduction of "The 6 Pack"--one big hamburger patty inside 6 buns, stuck together to allow consumers to pull off portions. In one pair of rolls the burger is topped with ketchup, the second has a cheese topping, and the third bacon and cheese.

While the gigantic burger is marketed as something to share, presumably with 6 other's, I have to believe Burger King expects many consumers will order these for themselves. The introduction is surely to raise the eyre of anti-obesity advocates.

The 6 Pack will be marketed in the UK, Spain and Germany along with a number of menu innovations, including "the UK's most expensive burger" and burgers featuring exotic ingredients such as tiger prawns and guacamole.

That's absolutely disgusting. Much as I enjoy the Burger King's antics, this latest ploy certainly devalues the franchise in my opinion.

On a related random note: I was at the New York Comic Con recently. One of the highlights was a Burger King Storm Trooper costume. Storm Troper outfit, Burger King mask. You do the math.

Seems like BK is getting ready to take on White Castle. It's an interesting idea, though I don't know if this will be enough to making going to BK a 'social' event.
