WPP and Interpublic Chiefs Are Bullish On The Ad Economy

SmileWPP Group CEO Sir Martin Sorrell and Interpublic Group chief executive Michael Roth project 2008 will be a healthy year for the advertising industry, despite concerns about a possible economic recession. Increased ad spending from Olympic sponsors and presidential candidates will drive growth in the U.S. market, Sorrell said.

Sorrell doesn't believe the real slowdown will hit until 2009, and even then he doesn't expect a full-blown recession.
