Woome190"Our first date was a one-minute chat via webcam. The rest is history."

The folks at WooMe.com hope to hear a lot of quotes like that. The new online dating site promises to bring speed dating to the internet allowing users to meet five singles in five minutes for a one-minute chat via webcam.

WooMe.com follows SpeedDate.com and mobile phone service MeetMoi allows users to meet dates via text message. According to Jupiter Research, subscribers to internet dating sites will grow from 2.8 million in 2006 to 6 million by 2011. Revenue will rise from around $350 million to nearly $800 million over the same period.

The WooMe.com service is set to launch this week in the US and UK.
