Fox Promotes "Back To You" With Fake TV News Vans

0000039836_20070517154908In promoting its new sitcom, "Back to You," which is about two anchors at a fictitious local news outlet, Fox Broadcasting is sending out fake local TV news vans to roam around Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York. According to The NEw York Times, they will carry the call letters WURG, for the name of the make-believe Channel 9 in Pittsburgh, where “Back to You” is set, and "will be staffed by actors dressed in blazers and other garb favored by news anchors, who will hand passers-by pens and other promotional trinkets styled like the items local stations give away."

The show's launch campaign also includes an "anchorizer" site, where users can send in their images to make it seem as if they are seated at the anchor desk between stars Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton.

Ah, more of a blur between reality and fake news...America should love it.
