Ad Tycoon Daniel Snyder to Buy Johnny Rockets

JohnnyrocketsBefore there was a "Melrose Place," the Melrose district in Los Angeles was the mecca for clothing and design trends. And, it is the birthplace of Johnny Rockets. Now, 200+ stores later, 'Rockets is destined to skyrocket in size as an international chain under the expected new ownership of former ad tycoon Daniel Snyder.

Snyder, who made hundreds of millions of dollars when he sold Snyder Communications to Havas, has just announced that he will be buying the 1950's style diner chain and increasing it in size to over 1000 outlets in the next five years. "There's no reason we shouldn't have 15-20 Johnny Rockets in Dubai" Snyder is quoted as saying to The New York Times. He also reportedly planning to open "Johnny Rockets Express" outlets in airports, malls and urban storefronts.

The new hash slinger of Johnny Rocket's also owns the Washington Redskins and Six Flags amusement parks, so expect to see a '50's diner at FedEx Field in Washington, and to see kids hurling Oreo Cookie shakes after a ride on the Colossuss rollercoaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
